Looking Like a Londoner

Big backpack, holding map and looking up trying to find a street name or a statue, church, river or a camping spot – this is the stereotypic opinion how the average tourist should look like and in a lot of the cases it is the correct one. Asking for a street while being on its corner, looking for a museum that is located 10 metres away, however some of them are trying to mask and look like locals.

In London it is easy and hard at the same time. Easy – because of the diversity of nations living in the city, you can find some of each nationality here and it’s quite difficult to stand out of the crowd. Difficult – because no matter how you look like, you also need to act like local, which means being in a rush, showing everyone that you are being late for some important meeting and how can you enjoy your walk while rushing somewhere? Well, the opinion that Londoners are always rushing is also a stereotypic one, however it is true, that tourists are walking slower than the locals, since they need to see as much as possible in a short period of time and in many cases they see something, which the locals haven’t seen during all their life in London. When you live in the city, you don’t usually care of going to some museums, since you know that you will always have time for that and this always never comes. Having short term rentals London instead of permanent address makes you see much more of it.

When you are going to visit another city, what makes you choose the way of accommodation? After considering price and location, probably, one of the reasons to rent holiday apartment London is to feel like a Londoner for a while. However, when it comes to the walking speed it is up to you whether you want to look like local or see the most of it.
