First, every person have the so called “style of travel”. This is a crucial point, because some of us are keeping the good old tactics to stuck in one place and that is all. Second, other prefer Europe trips and third to get involved with the local habits, traditions etc. Consider your style.
Then comes the destination. Far away the destination, the more money must be spend on tickets. Look around for a places that you have never been before. Don`t stuck with the top prior one or those who are higher class.Number of travelers is my next advice, especially if you have limited travel budget. To share a flat or a house could be fun in some ways. The vacation rental in Barcelona is a good example of this, if you have never been there.
Last, but not least is the length of stay. In this way a person can determine how much it will cost the certain accommodation. Some people change places often, others don`t. I personally decided not to change my place in Spain, and stick with the short term rentals Barcelona till the end.
