A bit of a controversial and alternative type of art is the Body Art. From one side, some of the works are indisputable masterpieces, but from other, this art is ephemeral since the only things remaining are memories and pictures. A bit more durable type of body art is the tattoo one. However, I prefer to stick to the body, because it`s far way from people.

Widely used in advertisements in some bars, where almost naked girls are presenting some alcoholic drink brands, it is also an object for festivals and competitions. The most famous is the World Body painting Festival, hold annually in July in Austria since 1998, which shows that this type of art is not yet spread all over the world and the first event of that kind held in Asia happened just in 2008 in South Korea, however the Korean participants get quite high

Traditionally the idea of body painting is as old as human beings and in the past materials like clay and natural colors was used. Nowadays, there is much more space to spread the imagination – there are number of techniques – like sponge painting, brushes, air paint and extra elements, much more different colors used, as well as sparkles and everything you can imagine.

Despite the usage for competing and advertising, it is also used in social protests, for instance Greenpeace activists painted like animals are trying to get the attention of people to the problem of killing animals for fun. In this connection, paint is also used to actually color the fur clothes in some of the Western European countries, so for example if you are going to London, make sure that you are wearing something synthetically made. On the Eastern part to rent apartment in Istanbul will be the easiest part.
